Suuqies

Suuquies (and now Suuqettes) are the whimsical ceramic creations of Brisbane-based ceramist Sue, who starting pottery after retiring in 2024. Starting with hand building, Sue moved on from detailed dioramas to creating Suuqies, which are unique ceramic lamp bases inspired by real people. No two Suuqies or Suuqettes are alike. They are cute, whimsical, daring and unapologetic. Each one features a hairstyle, eyes, lips, ears with jewellery, clothes (though some are discreetly naked) and many of them express themselves with tattoos, body art and piercings. Customisation is available to create personalised, one-of-a-kind caricatures of a loved-one, as the perfect gift.
