Mia Ceramics

I completed a Bachelor of Visual Art and shortly after was fortunate to be awarded a Japanese Government Scholarship to study traditional Japanese pottery at Tokyo National University of Fine Art and Music. The Japanese dedication to simplicity, perfection and perseverance are what I strive to capture in my work and are a constant challenge in a craft that is not simple and often unpredictable. My work often reflects the colours, textures and patterns found in nature.
