I Like Shiny Things

After receiving a tiny glass jar full of seed beads for my 12th birthday, I realized just how magical creating jewellery can be. Starting with just some fishing line and some screw-clasps I managed to find at my local toy shop I created what I could with the limited resources available to me at the time. As I progressed into high school I continued to create and earned a reputation that meant I was selling my creations out of my locker at school.

20 Plus years later and I have decided to prioritize my hobby after being bogged down by adult responsibilities for too long. There is no better time than now!

The last 3 years or so I have been focusing on exploring new techniques and have learnt to use polymer clay and create associated 3d printed tools and cutters. With my roots in beadwork I will continue to work on refining my work in that area and combining it with other mediums.

I have recently started making some ceramic pieces after acquiring my own kiln at the end of last year. I am loving the warmth and individuality possible with this material. The unpredictability of the glazes is magical!

What I love about making jewellery is that the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. There is always something new to learn!
