ARE YOU A MAKER THAT WANTS TO START YOUR OWN ONLINE BUSINESS IN 2020?
BRISSTYLE IS CALLING ALL BRISBANE BASED MAKERS TO APPLY FOR A 16 WEEK MENTORSHIP PROGRAM. WE WILL EQUIP YOU WITH THE SKILLS, TOOLS, RESOURCES AND COMMUNITY TO BUILD, ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN YOUR EMERGING CREATIVE BUSINESS, AND START YOUR ONLINE ETSY SHOP.
WHAT: 2020 Maker Entrepreneurship Program
WHEN: February 10th - May 31st 2020
TIME: Various (there will be some daytime and evening face to face sessions and some online work)
WHERE: Various (BrisStyle HQ at Wynnum will be the main location, all other locations will be close to public transport and offer easy parking and be within 30 mins of the CBD)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
BrisStyle Inc. will be facilitating a Maker Entrepreneurship Program for 12 Brisbane creative makers looking to kick start their online businesses or looking to test out a new idea for a handmade product they have not previously sold online. The program is only open to residents that reside within the Brisbane City Council Local Government Area, do not already have a trading online business for said handmade product and have at least 1 handmade item ready to sell. All participants must be willing to commit to the entire program (internet access will be required).
The cost is FREE for participants and this program is fully subsidised by Brisbane City Council.
The program has been designed to fit into your schedule over the course of the 16 weeks. The program will consist of face-to-face workshops (venue and times TBC), online learning modules, online communities and one-on-one online peer mentoring and we will be teaming you up with some of the most amazing mentors in the creative industries to help and guide you every step of the way to setting up your business.
Our aim is that this Program will equip our cohort of creative makers with the skills, tools, resources and community / sense of connectedness to build, establish and maintain their emerging creative business, and start their own online Etsy shops and participate (when ready) in local market events boosting the local creative economy.
Applications close on January 31st 2020 and unfortunately no late applications will be accepted after this date. Applications will be shortlisted by BrisStyle and Brisbane City Council. Shortlisted applicants will undertake a phone interview to further access the applicants suitability to the program. Due to the highly competitive nature and volume of applications we expect to receive we will be unable to provide individual feedback to each applicant.
