[ Puku: an affectionate term for a chubby belly. ]
We are the creative ambassadors for tiny people with chubby bellies.
We design, screen print and sew a range of limited edition 'happy' products for babies, kids & their rooms.
All items are made by hand in our make shift studio, just outside of Brisbane (Australia), on a tropical island called 'Straddie'. We love anything positive, happy, along with a sense of humour and a whole lot of adventure.
”We” refers to the Happy Puku team, and consists of Taryn and her fur beast, Puku the wonder dog. Taryns' partner Andrew pops his logical thoughts and efficiency tips in too from time to time.
Taryn is a fashion graduate, screen printing sister and sewing whiz. All artwork is created by hand or digitally. The artwork is then exposed on silk screens. Then ink is pushed through the screens onto fabric panels by hand. The ink is heat set to the fabric before being sewn together. Various fillings, batting and trims are added before each item is finished off.
The screen printing process means that no two prints are the same, just like people & places. That's just the way we like it, limited edition and unique, just like your tiny person.
We use eco-friendly water based screen print inks, recycled PET filling and natural fabrics where possible.
