JeniandPat's Bead Hive

I, Pat, make one of a kind bead art and jewellery pieces. My jewellery is inspired by my time living in London and it reflects the frenetic energy and colour of the city of my birth.I have always been a "Town Mouse" not a "Country Mouse" and so my art reflects urban settings both Englsh and Australian. I love to make complex jewellery such as multi-strand necklaces, and bracelets. I enjoy working with exciting fibres and textures and am currently experimenting with bead weaving. I have always tended to be unconventional and my jewellery reflects this. I create one of a kind statement pieces that stand out and demand attention. My creative style tends to be Avante Garde and Energetic and quite Extroverted which is surprisingly unreflective of my social style.

My daughter Jeni, on the other hand, makes tranquil bead art that reflects her love of nature. Her artwork complements mine but is vastly different. She enjoys creating pieces that tell a story, express emotions, or feelings using semi precious gemstones and rocks. She also loves to create pieces that highlight what she calls "Earth's Glories". These pieces are created from stunning pieces of fossil, stone and gemstones and are as minimalistic as possible with an eye to putting the focus on the beauty of the rocks and stones. Jeni is stunned by the beauty of agates and jaspers and other geological features and loves to use them in her artworks. Her artistic style is very peaceful and tranquil.
